请问在气象学中"prevailing wind"是什么意思?

指的是某一地区经常刮的风，盛行风或者主风。

prevailing wind ：
A wind that blows predominantly from a single general direction. The trade winds of the tropics, which blow from the east throughout the year, are prevailing winds.

盛行风，假设一个地方大部份时间都是在刮西北风，那那个地方的盛行风就是西北风。
